TAUPO PUNTING TERMS & CONDITIONS

Bookings are recommended. No cancellation fee applies if the trip is cancelled due to bad weather. A full cancellation fee will be incurred if cancellation occurs within 24 hours of departure time.
Please make sure you are ready and waiting to be picked up at the time
and location both parties have arranged.

The following terms and conditions apply to all bookings and may only be varied by Taupo Punting in writing. Bookings are accepted only on condition that the Hirer accepts these terms and conditions, and understands that payment of the deposit signifies such full and unconditional acceptance by the Hirer.

1. Viewing and Booking

(a) Viewing of our punt is done via our web site.

2. Should you wish to book our punt, a quotation will be provided. Once we have received your deposit (by cash,cheque or electronic banking), the punt will then be held for you.

(a) Payment Terms
(i) A deposit of $100.00 is to be paid at the time of booking. The punt is not considered to be "held" for any booking until that deposit is received and the booking thereby 'confirmed'.
(ii) The outstanding balance is to be paid on the date of hire, at the start of the hire.

3. Cancellation

(a) In the event of the cancellation of a hire 24 hours before the time agreed, 100% of the deposit monies already paid will be forfeited.

(b) In the event of a cancellation all monies already paid will be forfeited.

4. Extended Time Periods

(a) The client expressly agrees to pay immediately and without question for any extended time periods over the initial package time period requested at the rate of $50.00 (inclusive of GST) per half-hour or part thereof.

(b) Where solely in the opinion of the punter that if any extended time period outside of the requested time period is becoming of such a magnitude that other operations of the company are being jeopardised, the punter will advise the client accordingly and may immediately depart. No compensation will be given should this situation arise.

5. Punts

(a) Our company operates a punt with in our packages, we maintain this to the best of our ability , occasionally (fortunately rarely) a incident, accident or other problem may occur at a most inconvenient time and prevent the requested punt from completing the package.

(b) In these cases, we will return any prepaid deposits for the package.

(c) No further compensation will be made or paid and no liability will be accepted by the company for any consequential loss.

(d) If the interruption occurs after commencement of the hire, we will do everything we can to get you to the required destination on time, but sometimes despite the best will in the world, the impossible is not achievable. Again, no further compensation will be made or paid and no liability will be accepted by the company for any consequential loss or disappointment.

6. Safety and comfort

(a) All passengers must wear life jackets.

(b) The punt is groomed thoroughly prior to hire, but no liability can be accepted for clothing stained , marked or damaged. From any part of the punt/limousine.

7. Area of operations

(a) Our company's standard prices are in respect of hires that take place within a 5km radius of Taupo cbd, including Acacia Bay, Wairakei and Five Mile Bay. More precise details are available upon request.

(b) Packages originating or finishing outside this area will attract additional fees please phone/email us for a quote.

8. Delays

(a) We are not responsible for Acts of God, traffic delays or delays caused by our clients.

9. Driving

(a) The chauffeur will use his/her judgment to drive at reasonable speeds in relation to the prevailing road, traffic and weather conditions to get you to the punt/drop off required.

(b) The vehicles in our fleet are only insured for our chauffeurs/punter. No other person may drive the vehicle/punt under any circumstances.

(c) The chauffeur/punter has the last word on route and timings undertaken, in accordance with road, traffic and weather conditions.

10. Behaviour

(a) The Client will be held responsible for any and all damage to vehicles/punt and/or equipment if caused by them or any of their guests.

(b) Smoking and drug-taking is forbidden in the vehicle/punt.

(c) Drinking in the vehicle/punt is permitted at the sole discretion of the chauffeur/punter and local liquor laws in place at the time of the package taking place.

(d) Clients will be held responsible for the conduct of any and all
passengers in the vehicle/punt at all times.

(e) We reserve the right to immediately terminate any and all services to unruly and/or abusive passengers.

(f) The person making the booking is considered to be the Hirer and accepts all responsibility as to the conduct of any passengers.

(g) It is the client's responsibility to insure his or her own personal effects and those of any guests.

11)Due to what we offer in our packages by using the Lake our punt is included in these packages at no charge.
